Exchange of Ideas within the Framework of the IP-Based Development Support Project
An ideas exchange meeting was held to evaluate the performance and results of the projects implemented between 2023 and 2025 under the themes of "Sustainable Technology Development" and "One Village – One Brand", supported by the Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO) and the Korea Invention Promotion Association (KIPA).

In 2023, the project submitted by the Mongolian Felt Artisans Association NGO was selected, aiming to develop proper wool processing technology and its branding. As part of the project, embroidery machines for tailoring, a leather skiving machine, and four types of sole-stitching machines for shoe production were provided. The project also supported the development of the “MONGOLUX” brand, which continues to grow with post-project support.

Another selected project in 2023 was submitted by the Plant Science and Agricultural Research Institute, focusing on the development of agricultural machinery tailored to Mongolia’s climatic conditions for planting and processing onions and corn—including sowing, coating, cutting, peeling, and drying machines. These machines are now in use, and the parties are working together to ensure sustainable usage through training and maintenance services.

In addition to these recent efforts, a review of projects implemented in Mongolia since 2015 shows that they have effectively supported national producers by improving their IP-related knowledge and skills, as well as contributing significantly to branding and technological advancement. These projects have been successfully and continuously implemented.

Starting in 2027, the project scope will expand under two main directions:

  1. Development of agricultural technology, and
  2. Fostering a new generation of inventors through education.

Applications for the upcoming projects are being accepted until June 27, 2025, under the following categories:

  • Category 1: IP ASK & ADD Project (3 years)
    • (1-1) Projects to improve the quality of life in local communities (also known as Sustainable Technology Development and OVOB projects)
    • (1-2) IP ASK & ADD Model: https://forms.gle/wny2ALeND4GypZ4m9
